Citi Bike and me – we did great together in our first 30-minute cross-town commute to Penn Station. Light rain. Nice way to end my day at work in the cubicle farm.
Wow – the new NYC bike-share bikes have pedal-powered lights, drum brakes that work in the rain, splatter guards, comfy seats, a holder for my messenger bag, puncture-resistant tires filled with nitrogen, and a blue color that’s even cooler than Facebook-blue and Twitter-blue combined! $95 per year gets unlimited commuter rides.
This is a big leap from the Trek mountain bike I commuted on from Brooklyn to Manhattan for several years at the beginning of the 21st century.
