A significant step just happened in a long-term project I am working on – a project where the goal is to change the mindset of a few key individuals spread over a widely disparate group of organizations. Each step in this project seems to happen as a result of persistence, unhappily bordering on “squeaky-wheel” syndrome. My efforts at reason seem to have little positive effect. My loudly persistent efforts have much greater positive effect.
That’s not the person I want to be. It seems to make my efforts at bridging communication gaps kind of pointless.
I want people to listen to me because they also believe my ideas are good, not just because my ideas won’t go away. 😦
